Gothic Windows Project
For this math project, we created stain glass windows with a compass and a straight egde. They were about the size of a piece of paper and had to have at least two different shapes, an ellipse, a pointed arc, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines. We made them by coloring sharpie on a piece of a plastic paper protector. What I think went well about this project was that I thought it was really cool that we could color all period when working on this and it was really fun. What I think didn't work as well was how the sharpies left streak marks and it looked a little weird in places. The way I incorporated geometry into my design was that I made a lot of shapes and made it look like a flower, so it looks like a math flower which I thought was really cool. The Habit of Mind that I utilized would be Supposition because I wonder how it would have turned out if I added more things to it. One of the things I left out was the ellipse because I didn't have enough time or find a way to include it. I wonder that it would have looked like, and I think my idea of the flower would have changed because of it. What I would change about this project would be how we put them up, it looks a bit sloppy because they are not next to each other, they are sort of scrambled around the window. Since I really enjoyed this project, I have no improvements on this project.
