This internship has opened me to the thought of doing some administrative work instead of being restricted to teaching and performing. I still want to pursue cello performance, and I think that I can still do admin work even if I only do performance, after all, that is what my mentor and another faculty member did. I also want to study business because its universal and will help with whatever admin work I might ever do.
I have learned a lot from my mentor and other faculty members over the course of my internship. I think that I am on track with what I want to do with my life. Many people at the organization are still very young and knew what they wanted to do at my age as well. They have all encourage me to have multiple tiers of what I want to do with my career. The first tier might be music professions, but the second might be back-ups because not everyone succeeds at a music profession. This was very helpful, and I am not thinking a lot about this issue and what I am interested in other than music.
