Yesterday, we did several things. The main focus of the day was how to de-stress, an important aspect to consider when preparing to go to a very stressful place such as college. We worked on creating playlists on Spotify for different occasions, went outside and played games, and then got over an hour of just creative work time. Some of us worked on some of the items that we bought at IKEA the day before, and some of us just started on new art projects such as painting canvases.
Some of the things that I considered today was how important the atmosphere of a college campus will be to me. I really want a space that can work for my mental state. I don't want the feeling of anything super stressful so that I can work on assignments more easily before getting worried. I also think that being on a bike friendly campus would be really nice because it would guarantee that I would be getting fresh air and movement on a daily basis. I think this would really help me feel more comfortable and less stressed in school.
Strategies that I already use when I'm feeling stressful in school include listening to music. Some things that I want to try would be going on walks when I can and getting plants in my room to make it livelier.
I think that my successful study habits so far include my note taking and memorization skills. I think that I need to prepare connecting topics together so it will be easier to remember a whole concept instead of one specific detail about something.
